The first Shriners Hospital for Children was founded in 1922. Over 90 years later, 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children continue to transform children’s lives by providing exceptional healthcare and innovative research across North America. The focus is always on the child and their family.
The Shriners Hospital located in Montreal moved to its new, state-of-the-art facility in the fall of 2015. Not only is the new site almost three times the size of its previous incarnation, it’s equipped to handle 25,000 clinical visits a year with even more operating rooms and new services including a movement analysis laboratory, a day centre, and a skills laboratory used for teaching. One thing that will never change is the cutting-edge treatment for children in orthopaedics, while providing wrap-around care for the entire family.
The special-edition magazine, published by CMS in partnership with Shriners Hospital for Children – Canada, celebrates the opening of its new Montreal facility and profiles the innovation that Shriners staff have brought to the world as well as the novel aspects of a state-of-the-art hospital humming with activity.
